In 2026 I have been elected to the Board of Directors of the SCA (ACT) for a 2 year term.

At the first meeting I was made Treasurer. Early days so far but there is some sychronicity with the other appointment in VIC.

Also in 2026 I was invited to join an SCA VIC committee on updating their 2014 Best Practice Guidelines for strata accounting.

I'm particularly excited about this BPG which aims to help trust accounts staff at all strata agencies. Our goal is to keep it short and concise, and I will be asking to share the resulting document as a member of the NSW and ACT associations.

The committee will also produce a FAQ attachment and a set of standard Notes to the financial statements to use when the software does not provide Notes. Also something that other states could use.

Both are voluntary roles, for the betterment of the industry. Particularly strata agencies that are members of the state associations or a client of mine!
